There’s no greater reason to celebrate than welcoming a new tiny human to the world! You’ve been growing that gorgeous little bump and it’s almost time to meet them… but first share that incredible excitement with your family and friends at your baby shower!
There are so many amazing and creative baby shower themes out there, it can be overwhelming to pick just one (so we may need to have more than just one baby *wink*). When planning my own shower, we wanted to keep it neutral, as we were finding out our baby’s gender on the day too! We settled for a pastel-themed afternoon tea and our little girl was certainly very celebrated and spoiled.
We’ve since gathered the team together and collected a few of our favourite Baby Shower Themes for Boys, Girls and Neutral parties!
For the Boys
Ahoy, it’s a Boy!
We love little nautical baby shower themes to celebrate the arrival of your boy. Invite your guests on the voyage to greet your newest addition with décor of blues, whites and splashes of red! Some fun interactive ideas for your guests could include leaving a message in a bottle for the growing family. Sweets and treats can include salted caramels or chocolates.
I Moustache You to Join Us
A moustache-themed theme is a fun, whimsical way to introduce your dapper, young man to your loved ones. There’s also the opportunity for so many puns! The refresher station can say “wet your whiskers” and gift table can read “Stache your gifts here”. Guests can have fun with moustache photo props and little bow ties.
A Little Cowboy is Comin to Town
Howdy partner! A rustic theme is classic, timeless and you can put a fun twist on styling by adding a bit of the Wild West too. We’re thinking hay bales, raw wooden features and of course, cowboy hats and Sheriff badges! Games can include wooden-horse races or “nappy-wrangling”.
For the little Ladies
Boho is a trend that we hope is here to stay forever! Gorgeously feminine and free-spirited. Decorate with dried arrangements, feathers and earthy details with soft colour palette of sage and dusty rose. Activities for the day can include flower crown or dream-catcher making.
We Have a Little Something Brewing
A cute, quaint and classic party theme: the tea party! Teas, little sandwiches and petite-fours with flowers and lace to decorate. Guests come in their garden party dresses and maybe even fascinators. Keep games elegant and classy to keep the theme. It might prepare you for the many toddler tea parties in Mama’s future!
A Magical Day is on the Way
You betcha, we’re talking about a unicorn party! Decorations can be as colourful and glittery as your imagination can reach – purples and pinks and pops of gold. Sweets and treats are always magical and guests can participate in cupcake or cookie decorating.
Twinkle-twinkle Little Star
A starry-night themed shower is a sweet, gender-neutral party idea that we absolutely adore. Decorated with a starry sky backdrop and fairy lights. Clouds, moons and stars all around the room. If your party is on a bright, sunny day, décor of blues and teals can set the scene better than deep, dark colours. Star-shaped sugar cookies make the perfect guest favours for this sparkly theme!
A woodland forest theme is absolutely adorable and one of our favourite nursery themes. Bring elements of nature in with plenty of wood and greenery and some hidden away forest friends, like foxes, bears and deer. The perfect favours for a woodland themed shower is a mini-soy candle that has the fresh smells of cedar or eucalyptus.
What will it Bee?
Yellows are certainly the favourite gender-neutral baby shades and a honeybee themed shower is the perfect way to showcase some gorgeous, bright tones and even introduce some childhood nostalgia (we’re thinking a little Winnie the Pooh perhaps). Also a fantastic theme for the couple who aren’t announcing the gender of their little one, or saving a reveal for later in the day. Décor can include fresh flowers and lots of airy colours, with some bees or stripes hidden around too. Tiny jars of honey are an adorable favour for your guests!
